When it moves to 1 bar, turn the valves clockwise into the off position. This will turn off the flow of water. After 30 seconds, the pressure in the boiler should stabilize.
Combi boilers need to be connected to the mains in order to increase the pressure. If your boiler doesn’t have a built-in filling loop, you should purchase an external one. An older combi boiler might have a filling key rather than a filling loop.

Once the boiler begins to heat water, the heated water expands and causes the pressure gauge to increase. With an expansion vessel, boilers are well-set to control these quick leaps in pressure so you don’t need to worry if the boiler shows a higher pressure than you expected when you are both using the central heating and running hot water.
Jan 21, 2011· The biggest mistake that can be made is over pressurizing the boiler; this is usually caused by not monitoring the gauge as you increase the pressure.
